Cletus Dewey Scott, 77, of Mendota Avenue, died Friday at Lexington Memorial Hospital after declining health.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 29 from the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by Rev. David Wooten. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Scott was born August 31, 1930 in Davidson County to Benjamin Harrison Scott and Cora Younts Scott. He worked for many years for Lexington Chair Company and later worked at Van Garner Motors. He enjoyed the Lexington Farmer’s Market and was preceded in death by his loving wife, Annie Porter “Peggy” Scott, who died on January 29, 2008; a daughter, Teressa Ann Moose; and three brothers: Russell Scott, Clarence Scott, and Irvin Scott.
Surviving are a son, Wayne Moose and wife, Hilda of Lexington; his daughters: Kathy Owens and husband, Charlie, Sharon Everhart and husband, Tim, and Rita Beamon, all of Lexington; nine grandchildren: Brandon Everhart, Stephen Everhart, Stefanie Poore, Renee Rummage, Shanon Thompson, Travis Moose, Tyler Moose, Tabitha Moose, and Dolly Bullins; and two great grandchildren, Jessica Thompson and Kayla Rummage; and two special nephews: Benny Scott and Clayton Scott.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home a daughter, Sharon Everhart, 432 Bobcat Cove, Lexington.
