Loving father and grandfather, Cleveland Lee Townsend, 78, of S. NC Highway 150, died Monday, February 02, 2015, at Forsyth Medical Center.
A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Karen Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and other times at the home of his daughter.
Mr. Townsend was born December 10, 1936, in Davidson County, to Frank Benjamin Townsend and Virginia Perdue Townsend Lord. He was a previous owner and operator of TC&H Telephone Supply, had been employed with Power and Telephone Company and was a guard for Lowes Warehouse. He enjoyed fishing, tennis, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and most of all going to his granddaughter’s events. He was a loving, caring person who never met a stranger. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers and a sister.
Surviving are a daughter Tiffany Furches and husband Jeff of Linwood; granddaughters whom he loved very much, Sabrina and Marrisa Furches of Linwood.
The family would like to thank nieces and nephews, Harvey Hinkle Jr. and family, Johnny Hinkle and wife Teresa, Lisa Furches and family, Christy Duffey and family, Mike Townsend and family for their love and support.
