Clifford James Lackey

Clifford “Cliff” J. Lackey, 88 of Colonial Drive, Lexington died Saturday morning in Lexington Memorial Hospital after six months of declining health. Mr. Lackey was born March 25, 1918 in Alexander County to Burt Lackey and Beulah Bostain Lackey. He was a retired supervisor with Guilford Knitting in Greensboro, a member of Second Presbyterian Church and a member of the Woodmen of the World. Surviving are his wife Naomi Vanhoy Lackey of the home. Son Donald King and wife Ann of Graham; grandsons Jason D. King and wife Kristian of Alexandria, VA and Joel D. King and wife Shannon of Burlington; great-granddaughter Carter Thomas King of Burlington; and several neices and nephews. The funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday (May 8, 2006)in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Bea Edwards Copeland. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM Monday at Ashley Heights Baptist Church Cemetery in Aberdeen. The family will recieve friends 10:00 to 11:00AM Monday prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home. Memorials may be directed to Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled and Burned Children; Amran Shrine Temple, 11101 Creedmoor Road, Raleigh, NC 27614.
