Clint Fitzgerald Callahan, age 23, passed away on January 11, 2016, at his home on Callahan-Hill Road in Tyro, North Carolina.
There will be a public graveside service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Churchland Baptist Church cemetery, and visitation will follow in the church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Davidson County Humane Society.
He was born on February 11, 1992 in High Point, North Carolina to Jeffrey and DeeDee Callahan. He was a student at Appalachian State University. He is survived by his mother, DeeDee Callahan of Tyro, NC; two brothers, Jake Callahan and wife, Jodi of Tyro, NC and Matt Callahan and friend Hannah Everhart of Salisbury, NC; grandmother, Maxine Callahan of Reeds, NC; grandparents, Gayle and Willie Davis of Chruchland, NC; an uncle, Mark Davis and wife, Dru of Churchland, NC; and cousins, Ian, Alek, and Mia Davis all of Churchland. He is preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Callahan; grandfather, Troy Callahan; and aunt, Barbara Thomas.
Growing up in the West Davidson area, he was involved in many activities throughout school and with his family. He played baseball, basketball, and soccer, during his elementary and middle school years at Reeds and Tyro. During high school at West Davidson, he played varsity soccer and was on the wrestling team. He, along with his brothers and his mother, rode in national competition horse reining contests. Clint loved animals of all kinds and always had one kind or another following him around. He had a quick wit and a beautiful smile that always had a mischievous glint to it. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
