Mrs. Clorie Bivens Owen, age 64 of Pine Top Road, Lexington, NC died Monday, February 4 Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, February 7 at Meadowview Reformed Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Chris Bitterman and Rev. Roger Wiles with burial to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Owen was born May 13, 1943 in Lincoln County to Learnie Alburtus Bivens and Julia Mae Bryant Bivens. She was a graduate of Davidson County Community College, a member of Meadowview Reformed Presbyterian Church and retired from the purchasing department of Lucent Technology. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Larry Steve Bivens. Mrs. Owen is survived by her husband Kenneth Lee Owen of the home, a son, Dean Owen and special friend Holly Brown of Lexington, daughters; Elizabeth Anne Myers and Rebecca Leigh Newsome and husband Ty all of Lexington, Brothers; William Baxter Bivens and wife Judy of Hayesville, sister; Marie Gibbs and husband Ben of Lexington, 5 Grandchildren; Abbey Myers, Tripp Myers, Carly Owen, Chloe Newsome and Ty Newsom, II. and Alex Brown, special love. The family will see friends from 1:00 to 2:30 pm Thursday in the Fellowship Hall of Meadowview Presbyterian Church and other times will be at the residence, Memorials may be made to Meadowview Reformed Presbyterian Church, One Grace Way Drive, Lexington, NC 27295, or Davidson County Cancer Services, 25 W. 6th Ave., Lexington, NC 27292, or Covenant of Grace Presbyterian Church, 508 Harvey Street, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
