Clyde Lee Hunt, 78, of Lexington, passed away August 3, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Lexington,
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 5 pm Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Shiloh Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Paul Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends in the church one hour before the service.
Clyde was born August 28, 1945, in Davidson County, to John Thomas Hunt and Sallie Story Hunt. Clyde was a devoted member of the church and the church family. He retired from the railroad having worked as a brakeman and conductor. His passion was his faith, church, family and especially his grandchildren, Clyde was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Tom Hunt, sisters, Josphine (Sissy) Rowland, Margaret (Handsome) Wall, Judy (Dumpy) Berrier.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Berrier Hunt, of the home, sons, C.L. Hunt and wife Lisa, Mark Hunt and wife Susan, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Bailey, Austin, Clay, and Chase, brother, Ellis (Fuzzy) Hunt and wife Debra of Holden Beach, NC, sister, Lorine (Noodie) Gobble of Mocksville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh Church 943 N NC Hwy 150, Lexington, NC 27295.
