Clyde James

October 20, 1941 — April 23, 2007

Clyde James, 65, of Old Mill Farm Road, died Monday, April 23, 2007, at his home after an illness of 12 months. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, by Brother David Hedrick of Hilltop Baptist Church, Thomasville, and the Rev. Jeff Walser of Near Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Good Hope United Methodist Church cemetery. Mr. James was born Oct. 20, 1941, in Davidson County to Clyde William James and Fallie Lee Weaver James. He was of the Methodist faith, retired from Piedmont Metal Industries and was a member of Spencer Moose Lodge 2019. Surviving are his wife, Gwendolyn Keith James of the home; a son, Tim James of Lexington; a daughter, Amy Allred of Lexington; two brothers, Arnold James and his wife, Rita, and Ronald James and his wife, Mickey, all of Lexington; three sisters, Becky Byrd and her husband, Roger, and Opal Fulk, all of Lexington, and Nettie Foster and her husband, Richard, of Clemmons; and a special granddaughter, Devan Allred. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
