Clyde Joyner Jr., 88, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, February 5, at Hinkle Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, at Davidson Funeral Home. Elmer Joyner and Steve Joyner will be speaking. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Saturday.
Clyde was born February 7, 1931 in Wilson County to Clyde Joyner and Fannie Joyner. Mr. Joyner served in the United States Army, and was a member of the American Legion, Amvets, and VFW Post 3074. He is preceded in death by his wife, Candis Joyner; brothers, C.E. Joyner and “Claudie” Joyner; and sisters, Leila Wishon and Ann Seabury.
He is survived by his son, Michael Joyner of Lexington; daughter, Vicki Rummage (Todd) of Lexington; brothers, Elmer Joyner (Becky) of Graham and Kaney Joyner of High Point; sisters, Betty Stroud and Evelyn Joyner of High Point; 2 grandchildren, Christy Bruff and Jennifer Jacobs; and 6 great grandchildren, Jayde Bruff, Gracie Jacobs, Taryn Bruff, Dakota Jacobs, Dewey Jacobs, and Jaxten Henke.
