Coleene Barnes

Coleene Barnes age 78 of Black Mountain, formerly of Agner Lane, Lexington passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Black Mountain Medical Center.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 17, 2020 at Lexington City Cemetery with Rev. Rodney Barker officiating.

Coleene was born in Guilford County, NC on July 2, 1942 to Bud and Martha Barnes. She was of the less fortunate in life and had struggled with many issues. ARC of North Carolina took care of her for many years and so did Janice McDaniel and others who showed interest in caring for her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Walter R. Brown.

Surviviors are her ARC family that cared for her along with residents of the facilities that she lived in over the years.
