Colene Leona Tussey

Colene Leona Tussey, 80, of Abbotts Creek Care Center, died Thursday, September 10, 2009, at the nursing home. Services will be held at a later date, however, the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the home. Ms. Tussey was born May 13, 1929, in Davidson County, to Enoch David Tussey Sr. and Cora Sains Tussey. She was a member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ. She enjoyed her many animals and her collection of baby dolls. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruth Briggs and Katheryn Tussey; and brothers, Fred Tussey Sr. and Frank Tussey. Surviving are brothers, Buck Tussey and Enoch Tussey Jr., both of Lexington; a sister, Nona Loman of Lexington; and many nieces and nephews, a particularly special niece and caregiver, Connie Loman Wallace. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davidson County Cancer Services, 25 West Sixth Avenue, Lexington, NC 27292. The family would like to thank Abbotts Creek Care Center for their special care and kindness to Colene and her family. Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is serving the family.
