Colleen Fortner Stafford

Colleen Fortner Stafford, 87, of Lexington, died Friday, November 27 at Hinkle Hospice House.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm Thursday, December 3 at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Revs. Gavin Pratt and Dr. Robert Floyd.

Mrs. Stafford was born August 26, 1933 in Rowan County to Franklin Alexander Fortner and Maggie Goforth Fortner. A former employee of Wennonah Mills, she was a devoted mother and homemaker.   She was a member of North Lexington Baptist Church. Her husband, William Franklin Stafford,  preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons, James Franklin Stafford and Brian Todd Stafford, both  of Lexington; her daughters, Christine Stafford Kearns and husband, Neil, of High Point and Wanda Stafford Yates and husband, David, of Lexington; her brother, Luke Fortner of Memphis, TN; her sisters, Margaret Ward and Carol Koonts, both of Lexington; her grandchildren, Brian Stafford II of Lexington, James Stafford II, and wife, Lauren, of Raleigh, Christopher Kearns and wife, Kristina, of High Point, and Heather Q. Seuberling and husband, John, of Lexington; six great-grandchildren,

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to North Lexington Baptist Church, 201 Mize Road, Lexington NC 27295.
