Connie Sue Jeremias was a nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this earth on June 2, 2023, at the age of 66 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones at her home in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
She was born in Mobile, Alabama to David Lee and Barbara Jean Jackson on September 26, 1956. She graduated Appalachian Bible College, where she met her husband, James Jeremias. She was a freelance ASL Interpreter and worked with various North Carolina Schools to assist young adults with their studies. Connie was known for her love of Jesus and service to others. She and her husband were missionaries for 30 years. She took her passion for helping children to Zambia, Africa and opened an orphanage. Connie’s memory will continue after her death through her work with children. Connie is predeceased by her grandson, Beau and her father, David Lee Jackson.
She is survived by her husband, James: two sons, David (Jessica) and Daniel (Crystal); two daughters, Amanda and Cassie (Curtis); two brothers, Steven (Janis) and Samuel (Randie); and nine grandchildren. Her Mother, Barbara Jean Pickering Jackson.
The visitation is from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Currytown Baptist Church in Lexington, NC. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm at Currytown Baptist Church. Pastor John Smith will be officiating. The burial will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Lexington, NC following the service.
