Connie Lou Curry McMahan, 83, of Highway 64 West Lexington, NC died at her home Friday, March 11, 2022.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, at Reeds Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Henry Watterson and Jerry Beck. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington, NC from 6-8 pm Tuesday Night, and other times at the home of the son Greg McMahan.
Mrs. McMahan was born February 10, 1939, in Davidson County to Odell Monroe Curry and Gladys Mae Black Curry. She was a graduate of Davis-Townsend High School, a devoted member of Holly Grove Lutheran Church and later Reeds Baptist Church. When not caring for her children at home, she worked at the Lexington Book Store and the Strawberry Basket. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Nelson McMahan who died February 25, 2020, and her brothers, Frank Monroe Curry, and John Robert Curry, and sister, Betty Curry Koontz.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Gregory Nelson McMahan (Tammy); daughter, Cynthia Lou McMahan; son, Rocky Dean McMahan (Assina); Sisters,Martha Curry Byerly, Nancy Curry Swicegood (Leon), grandchildren, Katherine Jo Duncan (Matt), Wesley Kyle McMahan, Noah Nelson Noui McMahan; great-grandchildren, Bryce Hardie Duncan, and Wade Franklin Duncan.
The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Carol Hargrave, Jessica Hargrave, and Regina Goins, for their Kindness and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Reeds Baptist Church New Building Fund, 180 Reeds Baptist Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295
