Connie Sexton

Connie Sexton, 61, of Golden Drive in Lexington, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

In order to comply with directives from Governor Cooper’s office , the family will hold a private graveside service at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Curtis McLaughlin officiating..

Ms. Sexton was born on January 24, 1959 in Washington County, Virginia to James J. Sexton and Nettie Mae Lowe Sexton. She was retired from PPG after 30 years and also worked at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Lexington. Ms. Sexton was a loving mother, sister, and aunt who was dearly loved by all. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, David Sexton; and a sister, Carolyn Nicholas.

Surviving are her son Chris Sexton of Lexington; three sisters, Donna Colley (Clark) of Southmont, Dorothy Crotts (Danny) of Lexington and Anna Jean Hill (Roger) of Lexington; six nieces, Wendy Whitmire, Allie C. Pretree, Haley Colley, Morgan Campbell, Angela Sexton and Ashley Sexton; eight nephews, John Campbell, Mike Campbell, Jamey Campbell, Ernie Nicholas, Matthew Nicholas, Steven Crotts, and Tony Crotts; several great nieces and nephews; a host of cousins; and her best friend for over fifty years, Renee Owens Wood.
