Connie Lee Shrewsbury Sr.

Connie Lee Shrewsbury, Sr., 66, of Hames Street, died Monday, December 20, 2010, at his home following a six month illness. The funeral will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Bruner officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the home. Mr. Shrewsbury was born March 10, 1944, in Mercer County, W.Va., to Hobert E. Shrewsbury and Neta Rose Wiley Shrewsbury. He was a former machine operator at Lexington Furniture and a member of God’s Banqueting House. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Hicks Shrewsbury; and a brother, William Esley Shrewsbury. Surviving are his sons, Connie Lee Shrewsbury Jr. and Billy Hunt Jr., both of Lexington; a daughter, Debbie Hunt Deal, of Lexington; two grandsons, Alex Jay Hunt and Aaron James Branch; two step-grandsons, Kenneth Ray Deal and Michael Nathan Deal; brothers, Blaine Shrewsbury of Princeton, W.Va., Creed Shrewsbury, Glen Shrewsbury, and Ray Shrewsbury, all of Lexington; sister, Sharon Hicks of Lexington; and a Goddaughter, Bonnie Wilkey.
