Connie Marie Swicegood Simerson, 63, of Simerson Road, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at Alston Brook Nursing Center, following a four and a half year illness.
Friends are invited to a covered dish meal to celebrate Connie’s life at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009, at the fellowship hall of Tyro United Methodist Church. Words of encouragement will be given by the Rev. Randy Foster.
Connie was born September 12, 1946, in Rowan County, to Ransom Foy Swicegood and Mildred Davis Swicegood. She was a homemaker and her favorite times were caring for her grandchildren. She was also involved in the children’s ministry at her church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Teresa Carol Simerson; and a brother Grady Swicegood.
Surviving are her husband, Curby Lee Simerson of the home; son, Curby Lee Simerson Jr. and wife, Kendra, of Lexington; daughters, Suzanne Dickens and husband, Timmy, and Lisa Forrester and husband, Tony, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Chandler Simerson, Collin Simerson, Matai Forrester, Carly Simerson, Mikel Dickens, Joshua Dickens, and Emmalee Dickens; and brothers, Ron Swicegood and Barry Swicegood, both of Lexington.
The family will receive friends at Lisa Forrester’s home, 507 Simerson Road, Lexington.
