Coy Vance Biesecker, 88, of Choyce Street, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at The Brian Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Lexington Church of God, where he was a member, with the Rev. Donnie Daugherty officiating. Burial with military graveside honors by VFW Post 3074 will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Biesecker was born April 1, 1923, in Davidson County, to Zeb Vance Biesecker and Stella Byerly Biesecker. He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired painter. Mr. Biesecker was a member of American Legion Post 8. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Clodfelter Biesecker who died December 9, 1971; a son, Vincent Biesecker; brother, Jerry Biesecker; and sisters, Lucille Haupt, Nellie Wilson, and Thelma Leonard.
Surviving are son, Stewart Biesecker and wife, Lucinda, of Lexington; daughter, Shelia Simmons and husband, William E., of Hopewell, Va.; grandchildren, Bethany Biesecker and husband, Adam Gregory, Scott Simmons, Terri Moore, Kim Gray, Brian Robbinson, and Tim Robbinson; great-grandchildren, Ryles Gregory and Nikki Johnson; great-great-grandchild, Kayleigh Johnson; brother, Willie June Biesecker of Lexington; and sister, Rhonda Frost of Atlanta.
