Coy Leo Walser, age 91, of South NC Highway 150, Linwood passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at Rowan Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, August 31, 2012, at Smith Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Smith and Rev. David Ayers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday, and at other times at the home of a granddaughter, Angela Walser Myers, 3493 Swicegood Road, Linwood. Coy was born in Rowan County, August 16, 1921 to William A. Walser and Mary Alice Hege Walser. He was a Mason and Shriner and a member and former Deacon at Smith Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise Bigby Walser in 1997; son, Terry Lee Walser May 16, 2012; five sisters and three brothers. Surviving are his daughter, Runella Walser Hayes and husband Ted of Mocksville; daughter-in-law, Layne Walser of Churchland; two granddaughters, Angela Walser Myers and husband Bobby and Jennifer Walser Parsley and husband John all of Linwood; six great-grandchildren, Brock and Kaylan Myers, Saige, Maguire, Gannon and Kerrigan Parlsey; sisters, Doris Bass of Salisbury and Mary Young of Churchland; brother, Donald Walser and wife Doris of Salisbury; his special pet Pookie.
