Crystal Kearns Hewitt

Crystal Kearns Hewitt, 43, of Regents Center Circle, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  A memorial service will be held at 4pm on Thursday, June 14 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington conducted by Pastor Joe Horrell.  The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30pm at the funeral home before the service.  Crystal was born on October 27, 1974 in Davidson County to Larry Preston Kearns and Peggy Loving Cope.  Despite being paralyzed, Crystal was blessed to have 3 healthy sons, who she raised on her own and who were the loves of her life.  She was the winner of the Miss Wheel Chair Pagent of North Carolina and also an ordained minister.  Crystal also had much love and compassion for animals.  She was a member of Psalm 91, and was preceded in death by her father.  Surviving is her mother, Peggy Loving Cope of Kernersville; her 3 sons, Jacob Edward Preston Greene, Zane Alexander Hewitt and Kristopher Seth Hewitt, all of Lexington; brothers, Toby Owens of Kernersville and Tim Kearns (Elizabeth) of Lexington; sisters, Sheila Swicegood of Lexington and Marsie Owens of Kernersville; and several nieces and nephews.
