Curby Lee Simerson, Sr.

Curby Lee Simerson Sr., 66, of Simerson Road, peacefully passed away early Friday, October 25, 2013, at his home, with his family and friends by his side, after several months of declining health. Friends are invited to a covered dish meal to celebrate Curby’s life at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2013, at the fellowship hall of Tyro United Methodist Church. Words of encouragement will be given by the Rev. Randy Foster. The family will receive friends other times at the home. Mr. Simerson was born August 30, 1947, in Rowan County to Sidney Clay Simerson and Emma Mae Alley Simerson. He was retired from PCA Box Manufacturing and a member of Churchland Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Connie Marie Swicegood Simerson who died December 16, 2009; and a daughter, Teresa Carol Simerson. Surviving are son, Curby Lee Simerson Jr. and wife Kendra of Lexington; daughters, Suzanne Dickens and husband Timmy, and Lisa Forrester and husband Tony, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Chandler Simerson, Collin Simerson, Matai Forrester, Carly Simerson, Mikel Dickens, Joshua Dickens, and Emmalee Dickens; brothers, Donald Simerson and wife Jackie of Lexington, and Richard Simerson and wife Bonnie of Matthews; and sister, Maxine Brooks and husband Hoyt of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.
