Curtis Carter

Curtis Marvin Carter, age 89, of Lexington passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.   A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Clyde Akers officiating.   The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the Funeral Home.   Mr. Carter was born in Rowan County on July 21, 1928 to George R. Carter and Mamie Ozment Carter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and was retired from TFI, having worked as a sander. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Randy Carter; two brothers; and one sister.   Surviving are his loving wife, Betty Lou Carter of the home; four sons, Chris Carter, Sandy Carter, David Carter (Melissa), and Timmy Carter all of Lexington; his daughter, Donna Michaels (Lonnie); twelve grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.   Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County 200 Hospice Way Lexington, NC 27292.
