Curtis Roten

Curtis Edward Roten, 79 of Southmont, NC went to be with his lord June 19, 2009. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Rev. Bill O’Neal officiating. Burial will follow at National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC with Military Graveside Rites. Mr. Roten was born May 12, 1930 in Bramwell, WV to Dea Clinton Roten and Mamie Austin Roten. He attended Calvary Worship Center and was a veteran of the US Navy, where he received the Naval service Metal and was honorably discharged. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, William, Jess and Raymond Roten and a sister, Kathleen Hicks. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Virginia Baker Roten, daughters, Delores Howard and husband, James of Columbia, SC, Patricia Smith and husband, Tony of Lexington, NC, Sandra Jones and husband, Mike of Kershaw, SC and Wilma Luth and husband, Gerald of Southmont, NC; one son, William Roten and wife, Sharon of Southmont, NC, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, June 22, 2009 at the funeral home and other times at the home of the daughter, 202 Wildlife Recreation Access Area Rd, Southmont
