Cuther Elzavan Owen, age 94, of Winston Salem, died Friday at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. A private family graveside service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday November 21, 2012, at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington with Rev. Renee Easter officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Mr. Owen was born October 29, 1918, in Davidson County to Cuther Decimal Owen and Rosa Crook Owen. Before his retirement, he was a purchasing agent for Coble Dairy. He was a member of Linwood United Methodist Church where he was a former Sunday School Superintendent, was also a former member of the Woodman of the World. Preceding him in death was his wife, Alice Virginia Lee Owen, a brother, Buford Owen and sisters, Pearl Sprinkle and Ruby Brown Surviving are two daughters; Reeta Owen Duffey of Lewisville and Kay Spell Fagan and husband Bill of Georgia, three brothers; Wille Owen, Vernon Owen and Lewis Owen, three grandchildren; Brett Terill Duffey Sr. and wife Jane of Lewisville, Dr. Jade Christopher Spell and wife Lori , Jamie Patrick Spell and wife Haley, both of Georgia, two great-grandchildren Brett Terill Duffey II of Lewisville and Bethany Ava Spell of Georgia, step grandchildren: Karen Hatch and husband Brian of Delaware and William H. Fagan and wife Lori, of South Carolina and step great-grandchilden, Emily Isaacs, Savannah Hatch, Wil Fagan and Blake Fagan.
