Mr. Doctor Richard “D. R.” Rabon, 74, of Rabon Trail, Linwood, died Saturday at his home after declining health of several months.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 5th at Lakeview Baptist Church, by the Revs. David Wooten and Buster Pigg. Burial with military rites will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the daughter on Rabon Trail, Linwood.
Mr. Rabon was born October 15, 1938 in Rowan County to Ernest Richard Rabon and Mary Elizabeth Trexler Rabon. He retired from Celanese in Salisbury and was a veteran of US Army. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and the Spencer Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Ribelin Rabon, of the home; his sons, David Richard “Richie” Rabon of Linwood, and Dennis Rabon and wife, Margaret, of Lexington; his daughter, Darlene “Renay” Holbrook and husband, Randy, of Linwood; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Trexler Rabon of Salisbury, his brother, Arthur Bruce Rabon and wife, Dot, of Salibury; his sisters, Joyce Azalee Arrington and Lorraine Trexler and husband, Tommy, both of Salisbury; his grandchildren, Tiffany Field, Randy Page Holbrook Jr, and wife, Rachel, Nathaniel Rabon, Sarah Rabon, and Brett Rabon; and his great grandchildren, Jackson Field and Paelyn Field.
