Daisy Pauline Everhart Swing, age 105, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Brookstone Retirement Home.
A private graveside service was held at New Friendship United Church of Christ, conducted by Rev. Alex Nance. The family will receive friends following the service; social distancing and masks are requested. Mrs. Swing will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home from 12:30 pm until 3:00 pm Monday.
Mrs. Swing was born December 31, 1914, in Davidson County to Charles Thomas Everhart and Helen Sowers Everhart. She was a member of New Friendship United Church of Christ, and ran an in-home daycare for many years. At age 105, she participated in the senior games and won a gold medal. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Shuford Swing; two sons, Roy Swing and Thomas Swing; brothers, Thomas Everhart, John Everhart, Jim Everhart, Frank Everhart, and Grant Everhart; and sisters, Flossie Berrier, Fannie Whitlock, Sarah Beck, Mamie King, Mary Bowers and daughter-in-law, Sandra Swing.
Surviving is her son, Benny Swing and special friend, Brenda Doub, of Lexington; daughters in-love, Jeanette Swing and Linda Swing Beck; six grandchildren; seven great-grand children; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brookstone and Hospice for the wonderful care shown to Daisy.
