Dallas Grimes Anderson

Dallas Grimes Anderson 86 of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center after declining health of 1 year. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Newsome officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 PM prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home. Dallas was born in Davidson County on November 15, 1929 to Percy Grimes and Addie Shore Anderson. He retired from Roadway Express and later worked for Snyder Fuel Oil, where he assisted many people. He was a member of Friedberg Moravian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lorraine Cundiff and Mary Anderson. Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years, Maxine McNeil Anderson of the home; sons, Wayne Anderson (Linda) of Winston-Salem and David Anderson (Sue) of Lexington; sister, Jane Zimmerman of Lexington; grandchildren, Julie Davis (Joey), Jennifer Weisner (Justin), Michael Anderson (Jennifer); five great-grandchildren, Chris Davis, Brady Weisner, Lexi Weisner, Will Anderson and Kate Anderson. Memorials may be made to Friedberg Moravian Church, 2178 Friedberg Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127 or to donor’s choice.
