Dallas Garland Newsome

Dallas Garland Newsome, 90, of Linwood, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Rowan Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Davidson Funeral Home with Pastor Holcomb officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Newsome was born July 20, 1931, in Davidson County to Dallas Glenn Newsome and Daisy Bethel Davis Branch. He attended Churchland Baptist Church and was a member of the “Over the Hill” coffee club. Dallas graduated with the Class of 1949 at Linwood High School, then served in the US Air Force as a member of the Strategic Air Command. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Nadine Wilson Newsome, and one brother, Russell Newsome.

Surviving is one son, Newt Newsome (Lisa) of Linwood; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
