Dallas Mock Shoaf, 89, of N. NC Highway 150, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at North Carolina State Veteran’s Home in Salisbury, following a three week illness. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Reeds Baptist Church with the Revs. Henry Watterson and Jerry Beck. Burial with military graveside rites conducted by Davidson County Honor Guard will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home of his daughter on W. New Highway 64. Mr. Shoaf was born March 22, 1927, in Davidson County, to Cletus Charlie Shoaf and Thelma Louise Koontz Shoaf. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later he retired from the City of Lexington where he had operated the waste water treatment system. He was a member of Reeds American Legion for 67 years and a past member of Reeds Civitan Club. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Magdalene Smith Shoaf who died August 16, 2000; brothers, Charles H. Shoaf, Kenneth Shoaf, and Gaither Shoaf; and sister, Loretta Shoaf Sink. Surviving are son, Dolan Lee Shoaf and wife Robin of Raleigh; daughter, Marlene Shoaf Meachum and husband Jim; two grandchildren, Jamielle Orrell and husband, Rusty, Danielle Warg and husband, Ed; three step-grandchildren, Matt McAndrew, Scott Porter Jr., and Amber Rogers; great-grandchildren, Karstyn Orrell, Rance Orrell, Brevin Orrell, Orianna Warg, Braeden Warg, Caelan Warg, Brielle Warg; step-great-grandchildren, Gabriel Markham, Conner Rogers, Abel Rogers.
