Dallas “Dennis” Ward, 74, of Wood Village Dr, Trinity, NC passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point, NC. Born on June 22, 1951, in Davidson County, he was the son of Dallas Austin Ward and Alma Grubb Russell.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 13, in the chapel at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, NC with Mr. Stewart Grubb officiating. Interment will follow at Cid Community Church, Lexington, NC. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00-2:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Chip and Paulette Badgett in Denton, NC.

Dennis graduated from Denton High School (Class of 1969) and Davidson County Community College. He had a long career in banking after getting his start at First Federal Savings & Loan in High Point, NC. Dennis continued working in banking over the years at BB&T, Bank of America, and then retired from Vanderbilt Mortgage.

Dennis was a tireless supporter of the Randolph County Democratic Headquarters and Party. In his free time, he enjoyed working in his yard, spending time in nature, visiting the beach, and walking for exercise every day. He dearly loved the many cats and dogs he had over his lifetime. We will always remember his caring nature, wit and encyclopedic memory.

Surviving to celebrate Dennis’s life are his sister, Paulette Badgett (Harry “Chip”) of Denton, NC; niece, Jane Felts of Salisbury, NC; and great-nephew, Zach Young also of Salisbury, along with close friends and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Von Russell, and infant brothers, Raeford and Rondal Lee Ward.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr, High Point, NC 27262, Democratic Party of Randolph County, 114 Sunset Ave, Asheboro, NC 27203, or the Humane Society of Randolph County, PO Box 4384, Asheboro, NC 27204.
