July 29, 1954 — March 4, 2020

Daniel (Dan) Parks, age 65 of Parks Road Lexington passed away Wednesday March 4, 2020 at his home.

A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday March 8, 2020 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Revs. Benny Clodfelter and Tammy Talbert officiating. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 until 8 PM Saturday night.

Dan was born in Davidson County July 29, 1954 to John E. Parks and Naomi Frank Parks. Dan was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church; a graduate of Central Davidson High School and Davidson County Community College law enforcement class; he retired from the Davidson County Sheriffs Department after 29 years in law enforcement; he loved to fish, hunt and work in the garden. He also enjoyed being an umpire and referee in sports. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Larry Daniel.

Surviving are his wife Marie Austin Parks of the home;daughter, Anna Parks DeHart (Keith) of Winston Salem; grandson, Jacob DeHart; sisters, Kaye Parks Daniel of Salisbury and Janice Parks Hedrick of Lexington; brothers, Steve Parks (Mollie) of Lexington and Jeff Parks (Alice) of Golden Colorado; uncles, Harold Frank of Mocksville, Archie Frank and Joe Frank of Lexington and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the members of Bethany and Macedonia United Methodist, his care givers, Robin and Paige, The Duke Cancer and Medical Center and  Dr. Victor Farrah and staff for all the care, love and support to Dan and our family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, Bethany United Methodist Church and Macedonia United Methodist Church.
