Dana Allen Walker, 55, of Oakwood Road, died Monday, January 7, 2013, at his home after declining health of four months.
A celebration of his life will be 12 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church, where he was a member, with the Revs. Keith Carroll, Wilson Harris and Gavin Pratt officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mr. Walker was born September 30, 1957, in Davidson County, to Joe Allen Walker and Rosalind Smith Walker. He was a printer/pressman for 25 years at JC Manufacturing of High Point. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Surviving are his loving wife, Tammy Moorefield Walker of the home; son, Phillip Allen Walker of the home; daughter, Courtney Walker Williams and husband, Brandon, of Lexington; three grandchildren, Jada Brooke Williams, Sophie Olivia Williams, and Payton Elora Williams; his parents of Lexington; mother-in-law, Mona Link and husband, Rayvon, of Lexington; father-in-law, Bill Moorefield and wife, Cindi, of Lexington; brothers-in-law, Jeff Moorefield and wife, Lisa, Terry Moorefield and Tony Link,, all of Lexington; sister-in-law, Tonya Trantham and husband, Mike, of Lexington; several nieces and nephews; aunt and uncle, Penny and David Lee Smith; and four cousins Brian Smith and wife, Debbie, and Jeff Smith and wife, Laura, all of Lexington, Randall Hardin and wife, Vickie, of Tennessee, and Lonnie Hardin and wife, Laura of Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the fund set up IN MEMORY OF DANA WALKER at State Employees Credit Union for books to be purchased for Davis-Townsend Elementary School Library or football equipment to be used at Central Davidson High School.
