Daniel "Danny" Lewis Lester Sr.

Daniel (Danny) Lewis Lester, Sr. age 63 of W. 2nd. Ave, Lexington died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Higher Ground Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Saturday at Higher Ground Baptist Church on Lamb Rd. just prior to the service. Mr. Lester was born August 30, 1946 in Hanover, WV to Bryan and Reba Lester. He was a retired employee of PPG Industries after 34 years of service, and was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Freddy Lester. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Shirley Lewis Lester of the home; two sons, Daniel Lewis Lester, Jr. and his wife, Tammy of Lexington, Edward Lester and his wife, Crissi of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Dylon Lester, Katie Kester, Chris Lester, Brandi Barber, Brandon Barber; brother, Hubert Bryan Lester and his wife, Nita; a sister, Linda Lester Denton and her husband, David.
