Daniel Edward James

Daniel Edward James, 72, passed away Monday, December 11, 2023, at Hinkle Hospice House.

A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 4:00 PM, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with Pastor Freddie Moretz officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Daniel was born on December 19, 1950, in Horry County, SC, to the late Lewis Dow James and Annie Fowler James. He worked for Davidson County Landfill for many years as a machine operator. Daniel loved fishing and always looked forward to the annual fishing trip to Morehead City with his family. He was also known to have never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Morris James; three brothers, Shorty James, Mack James, and Norman James; one sister, Gladys Granger.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Christopher James (Christina); daughter Crystal James; grandchildren, Christopher Broadley, John Broadley (KC), Jessyka James, Mark Harbison (Austin), Aaron Democker, Leanne Cone, Brandi Shaw, and Jessica Story; two brothers, Ronnie James, and Clyde James; three sisters, Rosie Caines, Myrtle Spivey, Alice “Tink” Norris; and 8 great-grandchildren, Astin, Bentlee, Linkon, Savannah, Jace, Jude, Lillee, and Kai.
