Daniel Ray Miller, 72 of King Richard Dr. Lexington, died Wednesday August 14, 2013 in Forsyth Medical Center after an illness of 4 weeks.
A funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday in Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Preacher Clyde Akers and Pastor Bradley Testerman officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Military graveside honor by Davidson County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday and at other times at the home.
Mr. Miller was born in Forsyth County on January 14, 1941 to Henry Allen Miller and Mary James Miller. He was retired from Tube Tex and attended Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church. He served in the US Navy and was an avid fisherman and loved bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard Miller and sister, Janet Burgess.
Surviving are his loving wife Shelby Jean Queen Miller of the home, sons Jason James and wife Jamie and Norman James and wife Amanda, daughters, Denise Everhart and husband Jeff, Dawn Shipman and Dana Freeman all of Lexington, brothers Henry Miller, Jr. and wife Lib of Winston Salem and Joe Miller and wife Wanda of Bumpass, VA and sister Mary Ferris of Winston Salem.
13 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
