Daniel Burlison Tate, 70, of Lexington, died Monday, September 2, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center, following five years of declining health.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Lexington Church of God with the Revs. Rodney Merril and Lonnie Daughtry. Burial will follow in Rowan Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at the church.
Mr. Tate was born September 28, 1942, in Rowan County, to Bruce Burlison Tate and Grace Lee Grey Tate. He was an electrician with Duke Power prior to retirement and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Tate was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.
Surviving are his loving wife of 30 years, Mitchelene Whitley Tate of the home; sons, Leslie Daniel Tate and wife Kimberly of China Grove, Gregory Alan Tate and wife Tracy of Lexington, James Williams of Stanfield, Billy Williams and wife Patty of Oakboro, and Robby Williams of Stanfield; daughter, Tanika Snyder and husband Jody of Fort Mill, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Tate of Mt. Holly.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lexington Church of God, 804 West Fourth Avenue, Lexington, NC 27292 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
