Daniel Webster “Webb” Brinkley, age 78, of Old Highway 52, Welcome passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Monday, March 5, 2012 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Rev. H.W. “Duke” Walker and Rev. Roger Weisner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday night and at other times at the home.
Webb was born in Davidson County, August 8, 1933 to Fernando Lee Brinkley and Jennie Lee Hinkle Brinkley. He served in the US Army stationed in Frankfurt, Germany from 1953-1955. After working at most furniture plants in Lexington, he retired from Dixie Furniture as a Dry Kiln Operator in 1997. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roy, Renza, Baxter, Walt and Joe Brinkley and his sister, Lala Brinkley Byerly.
Webb is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice Ann Yarborough Brinkley of the home; daughter Alisa Brinkley Fritts and husband David of Welcome; son, Scott Daniel Brinkley and wife Sharon of Reedy Creek; grandchildren, DaLisa Ann Fritts and boy friend Michael Clapp, Daniel Lee Brinkley and girl friend Casey Thomason, Austin Bruce Brinkley and David “Thomas” Fritts, V.
Sisters, Ethel Crowell of Richfield, Elsie Fritts and husband Paul of Welcome and Thelma Daniels of Lexington Health Care; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nieces and nephews and our extended family and friends for your visits, phone calls and prayers, also the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Forsyth Medical Center as well as Hinkle Hospice House for the excellent care provided to Webb during his stay.
