Danny Sherrill Anderson, Sr.

Danny Sherrill Anderson, Sr., age 71, of Lexington passed away on Tuesday, October 01, 2019 at the Hinkle Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 5, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Welcome with Rev. Mark Blair and Rev. Jonathan Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in First Baptist Church Cemetery of Welcome.

The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening.

Danny was born in Davidson County on November 27, 1947 to William Noah Anderson, Sr. and Minnie Leona Peacock Anderson. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Welcome where he served as chairman of the deacons; was the former Owner and President of Ripple Oil Co., was awarded The Order of The Long Leaf Pine by Governor James Martin, member of Lions Club, Gideon’s International, Charter member of Welcome Easter Parade, member of North Davidson Chamber of Commerce and was a huge supporter of the Welcome and North Davidson community, a veteran of the National Guard and graduated from Lexington Senior High. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sharon Rose Smith Anderson of the home; his daughter, Misti Rose Anderson Butts (Bill) of Lexington; his son, Danny Sherrill Anderson, Jr. (Angelia) of Lexington; three brothers, William Noah Anderson, Jr. (Kay) of Lexington, Donald Nelson Anderson (Peggy) of Winston Salem and Larry Dale Anderson (Karen) of Lexington; one sister, Linda Anderson Mize of Lexington; five grandchildren, Rachel Caroline Anderson, Jake Butts, Joe Butts, Cole Anderson and Carlee Anderson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
