Danny Joe Freeman

Danny Joe Freeman, 81, passed away on January 17, 2024. He was born in Davidson County, North Carolina on September 1, 1942, to Joseph and Ida Freeman. Danny was the proud owner/operator of Freeman Auto Center.

A faithful attendee of Faith Church, Danny previously attended Arrington Heights Free Will Baptist Church. He was also an active member of Gideon International, reflecting his commitment to service.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Linda Vaughn Freeman, son Jimmy Freeman, brother Sammy Freeman, and son-in-law Rodney Leonard. He is survived by his girlfriend, Kathy Everhart, and her grandchild Bodhi.

He leaves behind a legacy through his children: Jon Freeman (Teri), Kim Freeman Koontz, and Dana Leonard, as well as his siblings: Gary Freeman (Janet), Tim Freeman (Amy), Carolyn Walser (Talbert), and Debra Freeman.

Danny will be fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren: Cheryl, Aaron (Jenn), Shane (Emiline), Noah (McKayla), Will (Beka), Faith (Matthew), and David (Shayna). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Brook, Gracey, Laken, Lorali, Paisley Mae, Rhett, and Greylan, and one great-great-grandchild, Montgomery.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Faith Church on Gumtree Road, with Pastors Michael Gates and Doug McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will take place from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Danny's name to Gideons International.
