Darla Moss Watson

Darla Belle Moss Watson age 72 passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel with the Rev. Ken Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. A visitation will held from 6 to 8 PM on Saturday, September 8 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree. The family will receive friends and family at the home of the daughter Shawn Lanning. Darla was born on February 4, 1940 in Putnam County, West Virginia to Maynard Moss and Eva Guthrie Jeffrey. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Dottie Miller and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Darla was a quality inspector with Owens Illinois. She owned Darla’s Crafts of Holden Beach. Surviving are her husband Shannon Flint Watson of the home; one son, Richard Watson and wife Roxanne of Clemmons; one daughter, Shawn Watson Lanning and husband Lance of Reedy Creek; one sister, Janet Meadows of Winfield, WV; a sister-in-law, Katie Gatens of Huntington, WV; four grandchildren, Jordan and Blake Lanning, Christopher and Bradley Watson. Darla was so full of life! She was always doing some kind of crafts, painting and taking care of her flowers. Her kind and giving spirit will be missed.
