Darlene Hedrick

Mrs. Darlene Peacock Hedrick, 92, formerly of Albert Drive, died Thursday, March 12, at Spring Arbor in Thomasville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday, March 16 at Memorial Evangelical and Reformed Church, by the Rev. Zach Hall. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11am Monday prior to the funeral service.

Mrs. Hedrick was born November 14, 1927 in Rowan County to George and Deanie Newsome Peacock. She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking. She was well known for her wedding cakes. An avid gardener, she was a longtime member of the Fairview Garden Club. Mrs. Hedrick was a member of Memorial Evangelical and Reformed Church, where she had served in many capacities. Her husband, Robert G. Hedrick, Jr., preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons, David Hedrick and wife, Andrea and Mark Hedrick and wife, Jamie, all of Lexington; her daughters, Shelia Brooks and husband, Rex, and Julie Kassouf and husband, Todd, all of Lexington; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robert G. Hedrick, Jr. Scholarship Fund at Memorial Church, 3806 E. Old Highway 64, Lexington NC 27292.
