Darrell Lane Beck

Darrell Lane Beck, 67, formerly of Brown Street, passed away Wednesday morning, July 3, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House following two years of declining health. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jamie Sink officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Beck was born October 12, 1945, in Davidson County, to Stacey Urben Beck and Blanche Elaine Everhart Beck. He served in the U.S. Army and had worked at Hedgecock Building Supply for 30 years before retiring from Lexington Furniture Industries. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mabel Ann McDonald Beck on January 20, 2000; and a grandson, Landin Cowan. Surviving are daughters, Traci Steed of Thomasville and Angela Sink (Jamie) of Biscoe; two grandchildren, Karlye Sink and Cohen Steed; and brothers, Don Beck (Yvonne) and Barry Beck, all of Lexington.
