Darrell Grimmett

Billy Darrell Grimmett, 75, of Linwood, passed away Monday November 20, 2023 at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday November 27, 2023 at the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Rick Freeborn officiating services. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home.

Darrell was born July 30, 1948 in West Virginia to Jimmy Ethan Grimmett and Violet Houchins Grimmett. He enjoyed watching racing and was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Ann Lowman Grimmett; parents; and a sister Marcia Grimmett.

Surviving is a son, Jeff Long (Grace) of Lexington; a daughter, Angela Jones (Russell) of Lexington; two brothers, Dale Grimmett and Richard Grimmett both of Lexington; one sister, Mona Link of Lexington; 3 grandchildren, Devan Paul, Destany Long and Alex Springer; and 2 great-grandchildren, Nataleigh Paul and Luke Paul.
