Darrell Wayne Hollman, 56, of Freewill Circle, Lexington died Friday, February 10, 2012 in Forsyth Medical Center after an illness of one year.
There will be no public service.
Mr. Hollman was born December 14, 1955 in Davidson County to William Lee Hollman and Eliza Wood Hollman. He was a former employee of Acme Face Veneer and of the Baptist faith. Darrell played in many bands over the years and was well known for his talents which earned him the name, The Legend. He wrote, recorded and performed his own music, and many knew him as the best guitar player around these parts. Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, Herman Hollman, Glenn Hollman, Tony Hollman and a sister, Betty Everhart.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Love Hollman of the home; a son, Tad Hollman and wife, Brandy of Lexington; a daughter, Starr Spaugh and Fiance`e, Bryan Jacobs of Linwood; eight grandchildren, Brooke Cochran, Carmen Spaugh, Morgan Spaugh, McKenzie Spaugh, Haley Hollman, Cameryn Phillips, Gracie Hollman, Chloe Hollman; five sisters, Lila Kiger and husband, David, Barbara Luck and husband, Dwight, JoAnn Porter and husband, Junior all of Lexington, Lois Young and husband, Ronald of Tennessee and Margaret Thompson and husband, Bill of Tyro. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Pauline Love (Shorty Baby) of Lexington; special friends, Adam Spaugh, Kenneth Cochran and Lisa Whitley; numerous nieces and nephew and many musician friends.
