Darrell Michael

Robert Darrell Michael, Sr, 74, of Michael Ridge Lane, died Sunday, May 12 at his home after an extended illness.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, May 15 at Paul’s Chapel Evangelical and Reformed Church, by the Rev. Aaron Long.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Mr. Michael was born December 3, 1944 in Davidson County to Harry Ernest Michael and Mary Frances Shoaf Michael.  He retired from Michael Plumbing where he served as vice president.  Darrell was a member of Paul’s Chapel Evangelical and Reformed Church where he served as Deacon/Elder, Teacher, Brotherhood and FYI volunteer.  He spent time volunteering for West Lexington Meals on Wheels and was also West Lexington Lions Citizen of the Year (2004).  His brother, Donald B. Michael, Sr., preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Everhart Michael, of the home; his son, Robert D. Michael, Jr. (Tiffany) of Lexington; his daughter, Deborah M. Epley of Lexington; his sister, Jane M. Worley of Lexington; sister-in-law, Rebecca E. Miller of Lexington; his granddaughters, Brittany Lewis (Brent), Meredith Richardson, Lettie and Lorna Michael,; and great-grandchildren, Bryson Lewis, Brody Lewis, Braylen Lewis, Chloe Lewis, and Mia Lewis.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Davidson County, Dr. Steven Spivey & staff, the Cancer Center of Davidson County and his special angel nurse, Vickie Miller Koontz.
