Darren Burrus Martin

December 4, 1964 — August 7, 2020

Darren Burrus Martin, born December 4, 1964 of Winston Salem, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2020. Darren was survived by his parents, Johnny and Dena Martin; wife, Sherri Martin; his children, Amber Rhyne (Stephen), Alyssa and Emma Martin, Aaron and Mason Woods; his grandchildren, Kyleigh and Rylan; two brothers, Tony and Scott Martin (Trang) and sisters, Christy and Nikki Martin; nephews Sean (Melissa), Andrew, Christian (Chelsea), Adam Martin, and Nicholas Dillard; nieces, Shayla Sanders, Charlotte Martin, and Callie Dillard.

Darren lived a life full of hard work and new adventures. He was a devoted son, husband, father, brother and friend. Darren took pride in his children and always instilled the importance of having faith while living an honest, humble life. As a master of many things, his hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing poker. During his life, Darren traveled with his wife and dear friends exploring the great outdoors and spent summers with his family enjoying the beach. His love for others was unmatched. He led by example in all things. To know Darren was to love him.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Psalm 23:1-6

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 9th, 2020 from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM followed by a celebration of life at 2 pm.

Both services will be held at Arcadia Community Center: 1281 Community Rd. Lexington, NC 27295.

The family will have a private interment service at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Brenner Children’s Hospital.
