David Calvin Beck

David Calvin Beck 75 of Lexington passed away suddenly at WFBH Lexington Medical Center on Tuesday, October 29, 2013. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. David Hedrick officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. David was born in Davidson County on January 30, 1938 to Jacob Calvin and Ruth Welborn Beck. He was of Methodist faith. He worked at R J Reynolds Tobacco and was self-employed owner of C & D Hardware. David was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bobby Beck and sisters, Ruby Lanier, Louise Lyle and a great grandchild. Surviving are his wife Patricia Heath Beck of the home; sons, Tim Beck and friend Teddy Jones of Welcome, Randy Beck (Tanda) of Welcome, step-son, Rodney Pickett of the home; step-daughter, Paula Prygon of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, Clifton Beck (Lynda) of Welcome, Ronnie Beck (Patsy) of Benson, NC; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jacob, Jennifer, Noelle, Isaiah; step-grandchildren, Tory, Chloe and Amber; 7 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Cancer Services, 25 W. 6th Ave., Lexington, NC 27292. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the family.
