David William Boan

David William Boan, 69, of Yountz Road, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Brian Center Nursing Center. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014, at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Revs. James Messer and Bradley Testerman. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014, and other times at the home of his stepdaughter on East Holly Grove Road. Mr. Boan was born August 31, 1945, in Chesterfield County, SC, to Joseph Culius Boan and Lela Lang Boan. He was a member of Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church and retired from Patrician Furniture. He also had served in the National Guard. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Yarbrough. Surviving are his wife, Ommie Gainey Boan of the home; daughters, Wendy Wynn and husband Charlie, Tina Sherman and husband Bentley, and Sharon Johnson and husband Tony, all of Lexington; stepdaughter, Jennifer Green and husband Ash of Lexington; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one step-grandson; brother, Carl Boan and wife Lou of Thomasville; sister, Betty McGuire and husband Jim of Lexington; and brother-in-law, Marshall Yarbrough.
