David Thomas Dance

Mr. David Thomas (Tom) Dance died Saturday, January 4th, 2014 in Lexington, North Carolina. The funeral service will be held at 10am, Friday, January 10th at Hickory Tree Chapel in Davidson Funeral Home, conducted by Pastor Lynn Jordon and Pastor John Woods. The committal service will follow at the National Cemetery in Salisbury at high noon. The family will receive friends for Visitation on Thursday, January 9th from 6pm-8pm. Tom was born January 3rd in Ohio. He served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps. He began his military career as a radio operator, recruiter and promoting through the IT departments, which provided a skill set for his civilian career working in multiple aspects of Operations Support including management. He received his Masters in Business as a non-traditional student passing on the value of education and being an example for his children & grandchildren to look up to. Tom’s love of playing “rubber bridge” lead him to achieve the status of Bronze Life Master in The American Contract Bridge League. Tom loved spending time with his family. We are grateful for our family vacation in August 2013. Many memories were made and we will keep him and all of the many memories we have in our hearts. He is survived by his Wife, Patricia Dance; Daughters, Jennifer Clark & husband Stephen Clark of California and Christina Dance of Texas; Grandchildren, Jacquelyn and Robert Clark; Parents, Charles Hutchinson & wife Jan of California, Julia Brown of Texas, and Thomas R Dance of Florida; Sister Tami Gregoire of Texas. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davidson Senior Services or the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
