David Dean Davis

David “Dean” Davis, 81, of Davidson County, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Lexington Health Care.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 3:00 PM, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with Rev. Kirk Tutterow officiating.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the funeral home, prior to the chapel.

The committal service will directly follow the funeral at First Baptist Church of Welcome.

Dean was born on June 30, 1942, in Chatham, VA, to the late George David Davis and Rebecca Roberts Davidson. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War, and later went on to work as a Hotelier at different hotels throughout the country. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, loved playing golf, was an avid Hokies fan, and enjoyed going to casinos.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, William Davis.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, of 28 years, Cindy Davis, of the home; sons, David Davis Jr. (Linda), of VA, and Jeffrey Davis (Terresa), of VA; daughter, Jennifer Davis; two sisters, Elece Scott, of TX, and Dixie Wolf (Henry), of VA; sister-in-law, Ronda Holder, of Welcome; grandchildren, Beth Gray (Kelly), Jessika Buelow (Logan), Bradley Davis (Taylor), and Zakkary Davis; three great grandchildren, Allie, Olivia, Tanner, and two on the way.

He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
