David Bruce Hartley

David Bruce Hartley, 64, of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

David was born on October 4, 1961, in Davidson County, to the late Bruce A. Hartley and Ruth Towery Hartley. Upon graduation from Lexington High School, he furthered his education and graduated from UNC-Charlotte.

He worked for most of his life and retired after 30 years of service from the N.C. Department of Public Safety as a Judicial District Manager in District #22 Probation/Parole.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Karen Hartley.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, James R. Hartley (Patricia), of Lexington; nieces, Carrie Hartley (Marcus Kestler) and Christie Hartley (Scott Brown); and great-nephews, Thomas and Matthew.

The family extends a special thanks to David’s friends, Ashley and Carlos, Sherri, and Sandy.
